Veronique Chapuy
Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. 1969
Estudió administración Hotelera en Suiza (1987-1988) y se hizo Sommelier por la Unión Española de Catadores (1992) y La Universidad del Tepeyac (1993-1994). Graduada de la Licenciatura en Fotografía Digital y Comercial en LCI Monterrey (2017). Su trabajo ha sido expuesto de manera individual y colectiva en México, Estados Unidos, Perú y Francia. Participó en el Programa de Fotografía Contemporánea (PFC 2013) con la serie Mother Complex. Recibió el Premio de Adquisición de la Revisión 2015, Fotógrafos de Nuevo León con la serie Walks y fue seleccionada en su edición 2017 con la serie Contigo, Yo. Ganadora del Rangefinder Magazine Take Your Best Shot Competition en la categoría "Family” en 2015. Autopublicó el fotolibro Mother Complex 2015 y publicó con la editorial Inframundo, Demolición 2018. Su obra pertenece a las colecciones de Fototeca Nuevo León, Centro de la Imagen en la Ciudad de México, Indie Photobook Library/Arts & Beinecke Libraries de la Universidad de Yale y la Maison de la Photographie en Paris. Seleccionada en el Primer Concurso de Fotografía Contemporánea de Latinoamérica 2018. Vive y trabaja en Monterrey, N.L. México.
She studied Hotel Management in Switzerland (1987–1988) and became a Sommelier through the Unión Española de Catadores (1992) and the Universidad del Tepeyac (1993–1994). She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Digital and Commercial Photography from LCI Monterrey (2017). Her work has been exhibited individually and collectively in Mexico, the United States, Peru, and France. She participated in the Contemporary Photography Program (PFC 2013) with the series Mother Complex. She received the Acquisition Prize at the 2015 Nuevo León Photographers Review with the series Walks and was selected again in the 2017 edition with the series Contigo, Yo. Winner of the Rangefinder Magazine Take Your Best Shot Competition in the “Family” category in 2015. She self-published the photobook Mother Complex (2015) and published Demolición (2018) with Inframundo publishing. Her work is part of the collections of Fototeca Nuevo León, the Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City, the Indie Photobook Library / Arts & Beinecke Libraries at Yale University, and the Maison de la Photographie in Paris. She was selected for the First Contemporary Photography Competition of Latin America in 2018. She lives and works in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico.
