Walks
Inicié la serie Walks en 2012, durante mi estancia en Austin, Texas. Aunque parecía huir de la violencia en Monterrey, en realidad escapaba de la mía propia. Con una necesidad urgente de reencontrarme, salí a caminar para relacionarme íntimamente con los espacios a mi alrededor, atrapando en silencio mi confusión de identidad y pertenencia. Cada imagen se convierte en un sendero: al compartirlo, otros pueden recorrerlo y, en ese mismo gesto, yo me reconstruyo.
I began the series Walks in 2012, while living in Austin, Texas. Though it seemed I was fleeing the violence in Monterrey, in truth I was escaping my own. Driven by a fierce need to reconnect with myself, I set out walking, seeking an intimate relationship with the spaces around me, silently voicing my confusion of identity and belonging. Each photograph becomes a path: by sharing it, others may walk it too, and through that act I continue to rebuild myself.
